Maria Sharepova

Maria Sharepova got her start in Tennis by playing with her family when she was young. At age six, Maria was sent to a tennis clinic run by Martina Navratilova. Martina could see Maria’s ability. She encouraged Maria to excel in her career as a tennis player. In order to excel, it was decided that Maria would attend a tennis academy. The academy was in Florida. Maria’s parents made a big sacrifice so Maria could go to the tennis academy. They had to work two jobs and were separated from Maria.
